Have a bit coolness

We are in the height of the summer. The mercury is soaring  from the end of  the rainy season in our place. Getting the heat injury is concerned.

So I took a walk in the cool of the waterfalls in the deep mountain near the ninja village.

The cracks of rock like pillars(the top of right side of this pic) are seen around there.

Here, Akame (赤目)is cool even in the midsummer. And  many shade of green of leaves, grasses, mosses, deep water and  many waterfalls and negative ions heal us. The homepage of the conservation party of Akame say that the temperature is at 23.5 degrees Celsius on the 28th of July at 9 A.M. and the amount of negative ion is 250000 per a cubic centimeter. In this connection it was near 30 degrees at the same time in Nara city but  I'm afraid I don't know well about the scientific evidence of  negative ion.

It takes only one and a half  hour by train from Nara city in spite of  the deep mountain border Nara prefecture and Mie prefecture.
Here is arranged as a hiking course. But this course is so long. So I went to till the pass of the mountain by a tax and walked down  along the river from there to the entrance of the course. I could see many waterfalls. I heard there are 48 waterfalls. So this place was named after it. This course is called Akame-48-Waterfalls(赤目四十八滝). But practically  there are waterfalls more than 48.

The rocks or trees are covered with mosses.

The green of woods reflects on the water

The water is very transparent and cold. So big salamanders are living there. Also there is a rare           aquarium at the entrance of the course. Salamanders, Amby stoma Mexican um of albino etc, rare amphibians are fed in the aquarium.

Many fish are in the clear water

I discovered footprints of an animal that has sharp claws on the sand of the river around the pass. I remembered that lately a bear came down to a village and attacked humans. I felt fear and stopped chatting. Wishing they were not a bear's footprints, I left there quickly. According to a local person that it could be a  wild boa re's and there is not bears in this mountain but they are living in the opposite mountain.

Wishing  a bear doesn't appear, I hurried in front of this Jizo statue.

Sarah, this is SO beautiful! Every single photograph is a joy to look at. You make me feel cool even in the middle of Tokyo's heat island! :)

Dearest Sarah,
Wow, what a splendid, delightful walk you had through such a wonderful place☆☆☆
Your pictures are GORGEOUS as usual!!! I really enjoyed the tour, my friend♡♡♡
It is a bit far from Yamaguchu-pref. But I wish I can go there sometime in the future. Unfortunately, my husband has handicap with his legs and not able to walk much, so I will have to find a friend to be with me, haha.
I LOVE the waterfalls you showed us, (and your header for this post).
Lots of love and hugs, xoxo Miyako*

This post is fantastic, Sarah! I feel as if the cool breeze and lots of refreshing negative ions wafting from the photos. Your photos are so superb: the contrast of silky drapes of the falls and dynamic splash of the water is stunning. I guess your nice camera would be pleased with these works of the photographer. I haven’t taken photos of waterfalls, and actually I don’t think I can take photos as nice as yours but someday I’d like to try.

I like all your photos, but particularly the last one. Paths through the woods always look so inviting, whatever the country.

Hi,Sara.

Sarah,
Cool and cool photos!!!
Last year, I took a lot of photos of 荷担滝 and 千手滝, I love especially these two waterfalls.
I am breathing in a lot of negative ions deeply from your photos. Your world is 桃源郷,a heaven on earth, separating from sultry and soggy summer!

30 degree Celsius? Nara is quite hot right now, I can sense. Akame looks a heavenly place with so many waterfalls, a perfect destination for the summers! The captures are breathtakingly beautiful - the green shades in the water, the aquarium, the splash of the water on the rocks, the silent call of the nature - all of it is so fascinating! And you did good by escaping fast after seeing those footprints. That must be a bit scary!

Sarah, these waterfalls are stunning, what a wonderful place to go to escape the heat.It would be quite frightening to imagine meeting a bear in this forest. Our imaginations can really create problems for us! Your photos are all lovely, they capture the magic of the water so beautifully.
You are right about the North Sea,it is cold, however not cold enough to deter swimmers.Today was warm and sunny and the weekly forecast is good so I'll keep my hopes high!

Hi, Sarah! 48 waterfalls - this is a huge number. I recently passed the 21 waterfalls, and very tired. And then 48. This is fantastic!

Beautiful photos of the waterfall, Sarah. At the moment we have the same hot summer temperatures here at Germany you have as well at Japan. Everybody is looking for a refreshment and /or a place in the shadow. So thanks a lot for your photographic refreshment!

Dear Sarah,
Your walking with waterfalls is so very refreshing. Thank you for taking me into such a beautiful and refreshing part of your amazing country. This shinrin-yoku has restored me.
We are in the most terrible drought our area has ever known. I am waiting for rain.
Temperatures are to rise once again into the upper 90's F. I shall close my eyes and think of these waterfalls and smile. Just knowing there is such beauty in our world makes me smile.
I bow to you,
Sherry who dances with butterflies
